In general appearance, a balanced, symmetrical hound, selected for scenting power, cry, drive, stamina, moderate speed, pack sense and courage.  Variation among different packs has been selected for functionality and is based on differences in regional ecologies.  In temperament, an intelligent, courageous pack hound of cheerful, determined disposition.  Males and females, 24 inches.
